(3-2-19)     Here we are in the month of March. Some years we say this is the beginning of riding season and then other years itís not time. We have had a cold winter and we must remember from years past that the roads do change with the change in seasons. Melting snow brings grooves out on the road surface. Also, donít forget the potholes that grew over the winter. When you get the bike out and go for your first ride, go slow, check the road conditions and watch out for all the car drivers that have forgotten that we are back on the roads...........................( Read more....)

' (3-2-19)     Donít break your hand pointing the finger at the people in cars to quickly. Remember more of the motorcycle fatality accidents are the fault of the motorcyclist not car driver. (If you donít believe me look at the last 3 years statistics) Give yourself a little extra time. That Winter rust takes a little while to wear off and riding skills be back up to proper levels. Iím just tired of visiting my friends in the hospital or worse......................( Read more....)

(3-2-19)     As far as the legislative agenda is concerned, the word is meetings. I have had a meeting with Rep. Green, the sponsor of our Road Guarding bill and other topics, and I had another meeting with Lt. Miller of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Government Affairs. Both these meeting were productive and other meetings will be scheduled with Michelle May with ODOT and more Legislators. Regarding the Road Guarding bill, Rep. Green is willing to reintroduce, and Rep. McClain is going to reintroduce HB548 (last session #), the Hearing Protection bill. As developments occur, information will be passed on. Other issues: E-15, profiling, autonomous vehicles, RPM Act, and other issues will be monitored and dealt with........................ ( Read more )

(3-2-19)     Motorcycle Ohio is registering for classes and so far the numbers are almost double the number from last year at this time. We also have a new director at Motorcycle Ohio, Tyler Fehrman. Michele Piko had been running things after Chuck retired. Tyler has been a rider in the past and I think he will work out with a little of our help. Congratulations Tyler and we all look forward to working with you.
One of the stories that I tell is about going to have coffee before work and this guy always asked me where I went last weekend and I would tell him and then I would say to him, why donít you go with me next week, you would have fun. He always had an excuse. Then one day ....................... ( Read more )

Tired of sitting on your bike at Red Lights
that won't turn GREEN ????
To enlist the help of Ohioís motorcyclists, ODOT set up a special phone number & E-mail for motorcyclists for reporting problem intersections.
When reports come in, ODOT will notifiy signal owners ( often a city or county ) about the situation and offer recommendations for improvement.
