Overview: 

Section 4510.12 deals with the violations incurred for driving without a proper driving endorsement.  Language is being added to clarify the penalties for operating a motorcycle without having either a motorcycle endorsement or the proper restricted license.

Talking Points:

·        Bill accomplishes what the law already has in place for other vehicle operators

·        Does not increase the penalty, only clarifies motorcyclists must have a motorcycle endorsement, which ABATE advocates.

·        ABATE of Ohio recommends that all riders complete the rider training course through Motorcycle Ohio.  If the course is completed successfully, the rider will receive their endorsement from the DMV.
