Hi Region 16,

Halloween is over and the days are getting shorter. It seems like a day or two ago we were getting the bikes out and planning the summer.

November is here and its time to be thinking about elections. Nominations are still open. We will be voting at the Christmas party December 5th at 7pm at East of Chicago Pizza. It would be nice to see as many of you as we can to vote on the new officers.

Kristy Hawthorne (legislative director) talked to us at the October meeting and explained some of the bills that the house and senate are voting on.

Hope to see you at the meeting.

Kristy-the House and Senate were back in session in September. They are busy working on the budget and distracted driver laws. The ROW Bill has been addressed. We need to contact our Representatives and find out where they stand on issues concerning us.

Legislative Bills are on their website.   Check it out and contact as many as you can….get to know them and encourage them to back us

Kristy’s goal along with her committee is to not give a penny from the PAC Fund to Representatives unless they are backing us.

There are various things we can do….in kind contributions, stuff envelopes, work at a phone bank, and help with campaign drives to get involved with government officials.   Use these opportunities to let them know what we are trying to accomplish with their help.

We need to talk with the mayors, law enforcement officials and government officials to get them to proclaim May as Motorcycle Awareness Month.  Letters can be written in so let’s do our part to help out.   Proclamations will be read at the Motorcycle Awareness Rally in Columbus.   If you haven’t taken part in a Awareness Rally. I suggest you try to fit it into your schedule
